I too use a lot of splenda. I have the little itchy bumps on my feet and hands. I went to a dermatologist and they told me that was dyshidrotic eczema. But from listening to everyone else, what have i got to lose by stopping splenda for a couple of weeks and see if anything changes.

If after reading all the symptoms described by almost everyone who has used Splenda,we still are cynical, then theres nothing that would convince these people about the rashes, bloating and weight gain associated with Splenda.
To all of these great minds who think that Splenda has nothing to do with the exact same health problems with every one who is using this product,I challenge them to prove that Splenda is not the culprit.
Stop using Splenda and then check it out for yourself.Your symptoms will get better.

For the last six weeks I have had terrible stomach pains, bloating, diarhea, bloody stool, headaches, irritability, sleep disruption and fatigue. I started using splenda to sweeten my coffee about 3 months before all of this started happening. I tried cutting out foods, and different vitamins I was taking, to no avail. After reading about Splenda, I am going to stop using it immediately in the hope that my symptoms will go away. I had no idea of the side affects until I my doctor told me about them and I started doing searches on the internet. I have heard that Stevia is a good sugar substitute, and once my body gets back to it's normal self, I am going to give it a try. Wow, I can't believe that what I am going thru could possibly be from Splenda use!

I used splenda sodas such as pepsi one, waist watchers. Loved the taste. Tried eating 2 products with splenda, pillsbury devils food cake mix and luigi's italian ices (cherry/lemon). During the nite had horrific pains in my gut. Had incredible gas and liquid runs. Also, during these bouts, the front of my shins became very itchy for about a 1/2 hour, wanted to scratch the skin off for relief. Don't know why the splenda in the diet sodas don't affect me, but use of the products I mentioned caused me great distress until my intestines were empty. Won't do that again.

Sugar *IS NOT SAFE*
Sugar *IS NOT NATURAL* either.
It's as processed and as "man made" as Splenda or any other sweetener.

When was the last time you saw our processed sugar as a natural occurrence in nature? Answer: NEVER

Sugar is bad because it half Fructose. Fructose can only be processed by the Liver... and what does the Liver process? TOXINS

Sugar, of any kind, IS A POISON.

I think if there is a foundation in this article, the peoiple gain weight because they eat a lot more because "it has splenda! It's not going to make me gain weight!" not the splenda, but all the food you are eating with it haha.

I normally do not post to sites like this, and I wasn't even researching artificial sweeteners (this site popped up in response to some other keywords I used), but I must say that I'm not sure whether to laugh or get angry at the misinformation. One thing that really bothers me was at the end when this anonymous author says that saccharin comes from a plant in China...wrong! That would be stevia. Stevia is completely natural and will not hurt you. The FDA has nothing to say about it because they legally have no authority to. It is considered a food.

Anyway, I won't get on my soapbox about the truth here because I would wind up writing a book, but if you want to read an unbiased account of how artificial sweeteners were stumbled upon and who paid who to get them approved by the FDA, pick up a copy of Dr. Joseph Mercola's "Sweet Deception". Very informative and gives just the facts. PLEASE don't use artificial sweeteners...your body has no clue what to do with them. My motto about the relationship between food and the body: "Garbage in, garbage out."
